Learn Planting Young Trees

I decided to educate my self together with my child how to plant trees, because urge to contribute and to become union with the universal energy of the nature blooming, I approach my curiosity to try it in our garden. And after 7 years we have five new young trees alive there that were planted in different years and with different stories.

The first Apple tree was planted directly after born of my son with my placenta and his umbilical cord inside the soil. It was not my plan to do it but I had feeling about it. It was because the midwife who helped the birth process had asked us weather we want to took it home. The first moment we did not know what to say, but then we answered spontaneously, hmm yes..  My husband brought them home and planted it with the Apple tree above it before I went home from hospital. It gave 1 apple but after 1 year the tree was died. I was thought perhaps it was because the placenta.., too spicy..?

The neighbour said “no chance..” when she saw us watered it in the heat dry summer. I was..quite felt very sorry..
But… after several months, 5 new small trees comes up from the same root!! They are apple trees, from the same tree!! How miracle !!
So, then we let them several months grow together. And finally, we selected one trunk which grow bigger and strongest and removed the other small trunks to give the chance without competition. And the remain trunk does alive until now.

The one trunk and its branches of first apple tree today in the winter after the previous trunk died and the grow of five trees from the same root.

One time we had bought a Christmas tree/Fir(Abies/Tannen) from a store of home improvement supplies with a wish to plant it soon after Christmas was over. But  after several weeks being inside, the tree became slowly very dry. Once we opened the pot in the garden for planted, it had almost no root anymore. Actually the sales person had affirm when we asked weather it could be planted afterwards.

The second Apple tree was together with the Pear tree, planted for my birthday in 2019.
Learning from the case before, I asked my husband for us to visit a local  tree nursery near our house in the village. We found Dorfmeister Gärtnerei und Deichgräberei in Neunkirchen Strasse 13, 2731 in Gerasdorf am Steinfeld, Neunkirchen. There we met a kind and grounded old man gardener who sell young trees. At first I asked Beech tree (Fagus/Buche), but then he advised that it does not grow well in the place where we are. He then showed us around his places, all plants and all trees that he has. So I decided to buy an old sort Apple tree and a Pear tree. He told me also to keep watering them in the first winter, because the snow on the top of soil kept the roots freeze. So, I respect his advice and did his instruction. My husband watered each of them with 2 big can of rain water collected from the collection tank that we set. And I also went out to the garden to watered them during snow and freeze of  -11 degree Celsius. I wanted them to keep “drink” and alive even in such cold winter.

The Fir(Abies/Tannenbaum) was planted for my birthday in 2020.
I dropped the idea of planting Beech tree (Fagus/Buche), and so we bought a young Fir or Christmas tree (Abies/Tannen) in Dorfmeister tree nursery again. And looks like it does like it’s place until now.

The Cherry tree had been planted about 1 month after my daughter’s birth. Learning from the first my son’s birth, this time I had asked the midwife to allow us to take the placenta and umbilical cord back home.  We still had them very fresh and fluffy, very clean, with no odour at all, because the midwife had wrapped them very well and preserved in the deep freezer for 1 month.  It was the first and the only time I saw my placenta and umbilical cord from my own self giving birth. It was emotional. Because I had just that moment to fascinating and unbelievable but also had to let it go the moment after. They were then planted in the deep soil before we plant the Cherry tree above it. The tree is alive until now.

I found out that planting those trees substitute the old trees that we had cut down because they were already too old, woobly and rotten roots.

And after those tries, it is hard for me to imagine with today causes and advertise of planting millions of trees in once. Who’s own the land, how to get million of seedling ready to been planted, where they get it from, who taking care of them with watering and so on, and even how do we know that they are survive to grow continuously because each tree is an individual.
